Heil BM - 17 Dual Headset (Double Sided + Dynamic)

The Heil BM-17 Dual-Sided Dynamic Headset is engineered for amateur radio operators who demand superior comfort, excellent receive audio, and clear transmit performance during extended operating sessions. Newly redesigned for greater flexibility, the BM-17 features a swivel-mounted boom arm that can be positioned on either the left or right side, allowing operators to customize the headset to their preferred setup.

The dual-ear design provides enhanced audio isolation, helping operators focus on communications in busy operating environments, contest stations, or field operations. Equipped with highly sensitive, low-distortion speakers, the BM-17 delivers clear and intelligible receive audio while requiring minimal AF drive from the transceiver. The speaker frequency response of 200 Hz to 5 kHz is optimized for voice communications.

At the core of the BM-17 is Heil's proven BM-D dynamic microphone element, specifically designed for amateur radio communications. This 500-ohm low-impedance dynamic element delivers excellent speech articulation and natural transmit audio with an operating frequency response of 120 Hz to 10 kHz. It is compatible with most amateur radio transceivers that support low-impedance microphone inputs.

Built for all-day comfort, the headset features soft, replaceable acoustic foam ear pads on both ear cups and a padded headband with an internal stainless-steel support band. The headband can be gently adjusted to create a personalized fit for maximum comfort during long operating sessions.

The microphone terminates in a red 1/8" mono plug, while the headphone connection uses a black 1/8" stereo plug. A 1/8" to 1/4" headphone adapter is included for added versatility across a variety of radio setups.

For simple integration with popular transceivers, the BM-17 is compatible with Heil AD-1 series adapter cables (sold separately), providing a convenient connection solution for many amateur radio systems.
