CHAMELEON ANTENNA F-Loop 2.0 Total Kit Portable HF Loop Antennas were designed with portability, ease of use, ruggedness and high performance in mind. F-Loop 2.0 PLUS antennas are made with premium materials that are precisely manufactured and assembled.
CHA F-LOOP 2.0 Total Kit antennas include a coaxial cable radiator loop and solderless aluminum coupling loop. This loop increases performance of the CHA F-LOOP 2.0 Antenna, particularly on 40 through 15 meters. The CHA F-LOOP 2.0 Total Kit antenna should be installed near the radio set; either indoors or in a sheltered outside area, such as a balcony or porch. The CHA F-LOOP 2.0 is not waterproof and must be installed in an area protected from the weather.
Because the magnetic component of an electromagnetic wave is maximum at the boundary between the ground and the space above, loop performance is usually best when the loop is located near the ground at a distance outside of the loop's close-in induction field (just a loop diameter or two). There is no significant improvement in sky wave propagation performance when a small loop is installed high; all that's required is that the loop is substantially clear of objects in the immediate area (especially metal objects) and oriented towards the desired direction of radiation.
Magnetic loops are different from typical antennas because it emphasizes the magnetic part of the radio wave (H field) rather than the electric part (E field) of the radio wave. It also has a high Q resonance of around 17 KHz on 40 meters, helping to provide some immunity from interference outside the resonant bandpass.
F-Loop 2.0 Antennas were designed with weight, portability, versatility and cost in mind and are ideal for RV/camping, hotels, apartments, condominiums, homeowner's associations, deed restrictions and CCRs (Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions), Shortwave Listening (SWL) and other applications where it is not feasible to erect a multi-band wire or vertical antenna.

Custom made tuning capacitors are equipped with a 6:1 reducer and offer a smooth and consistent tuning while providing the highest efficiency
The Condor Mole military bag offers easy storage, transportation and protection for the unit
The unit is now equipped with a NEW larger Delrin tuning knob for smoother tuning and operation
The base of the tuning unit is equipped with an aluminum anodized base plate. The base plate may be placed directly on a flat surface or can be mounted on a tripod (1/4-20 thread)
