Wideband receiving Loop AM Broadcast – 30MHz

Receiving loop covering AM broadcast through 30 MHz
The MFJ-1886X Receive Loop gives you tremendous power to copy weak stations through impossibly strong levels of QRN or QRM. Covering AM broadcast through 30 MHz, its superbly directive element and low-noise preamplifier pulls out signals normally lost when using wire antennas.
With the MFJ-1886X you get:

- Perfect loop balance for deep precise nulls
- Dual-MMIC push-pull pre-amplification for wide dynamic range
- Indestructible aircraft-grade 36-inch aluminum loop
- Great portability -- weighs only 2-1/2 pounds
- Mounts using standard TV-style hardware
- Tough molded weatherproof enclosure for outdoor installation
- Phantom powered with AC adapter and Bias-T included

Unlike many ADF loops, the MFJ-1886X is weather-sealed, very ruggedly constructed, and mechanically stable under all weather conditions. Weighing only 2-1/2 pounds and measuring 36-inches in diameter, it also installs easily on a tripod or handheld mast for portable use.  You can mount it permanently on any inexpensive TV rotor and direct it from the comfort of your shack.

The key to the MFJ-1886X`s performance is its balanced-input preamplifier. Dual MMICs operating in push-pull deliver an extremely low noise floor along with exceptionally wide dynamic range to handle overload from nearby transmitters. As a result, you enjoy crystal clear reception of weak signals along with immunity from IMD.  High-gain amplification and push-pull symmetry provide perfect electrical balance to ensure deep nulls and accurate directivity.

Installing the MFJ-1886X is both fast and simple. Mount it using standard U-bolts on any conventional mast (1-3/4 inch OD or smaller). All mounting hardware is provided. The loop`s preamplifier is powered through coax, so no external wiring is needed for remote installations. Simply use the MFJ-4117 Bias-T and MFJ-1312D plug-in AC supply that come with the loop, or use any external 12-volt DC source for your portable setups. All you need is a 50-ohm co-ax with PL-259 connectors to connect up the loop plus a short PL-259 jumper to connect your radio to the Bias-T. Everything else is included.

With ever-increasing interference from consumer devices and digital systems, amateur-band noise floors are rising and spurious signals seem to appear from nowhere. However, there`s no need to let increased QRN take the joy out of operating. The MFJ-1886 receive loop is a powerful tool that will help you locate those noise sources you can suppress, and null out the ones you can`t!
