Instructions – MD5 programming To use DMR you need a DMR ID. To load the software and code plugs one need to have either * The CD supplied or * Downloaded the MD5 zip file and the 19 “md5-z” files from our website. If using the downloaded files, place them in one folder on your pc and un-zip the MD5 file – which will re-create the same content of the cd into the folder on your PC. You will need to turn off driver signing in windows 10 – please see the file supplied on the disc how to do that. You need to do this each time you re-start your PC. Run the DJMD5 clone utility D , and this will install the software onto your pc. Including the drivers. If you restart your pc remember to disable the driver signing again else it will not see your radio when you plug it in. Plug your radio into your pc, give the driver chance to load. If you know how check which com port your radio is on. Start the DJMD5 software, and under the set menu, select the com port of the radio. It is highly recommended to read the data from the radio and save it before loading a code plug and writing it to the radio. SET YOUR DMR ID before writing to the radio, especially in the amateur radio community even monitoring some repeaters might be inhibited unless a valid DMR id is seen.
