Alinco DJ-X11E

Alinco's DJ-X11E represents the most comprehensively featured compact scanner currently on the market and from an AirBand listener's perspective it is worthy of serious consideration, if within your budget. One feature which stands out is the Dual VFO operation. In the DJ-X11E, Alinco have taken this option to the next level by adding the ability to use normal Memory Scan and monitor a frequency on the sub VFO. Dual volume controls allowing the user to balance sound levels independently.
Sensibly, Alinco have opted to use traditional memory allocation, i.e. in this case 12 banks of 100, making the set noticeably more user friendly than some other recent additions to the scanner market.

In summary, the DJ-X11E manages to combine good AirBand performance with comprehensive features, including PC control and remain user friendly on the basics and in my opinion, a worthy choice, if you're looking to replace an aging Yupiteru MVT7100/7200.
