I bought mine second-hand from Nevada prior to taking my Foundation Exam. I first used it as a transmitter on the Wednesday when I got my call sign. It was the best purchase I could have made.

It is very easy to use as a novice. It feels comfortable and I have had some excellent contacts. In my car I couple it with a Comet mini mag mount and the performance is stunning. It is very clear on reception and all my contacts have said my speech is very clear also.

Fully recommended as an excellent buy.
