The new Flex 6400 Transceiver is the very latest in SDR development from Flex Radio and is a direct replacement for the 6300. So what are the stand-out differences between the 6300 and 6400

Improved Receiver Performance

Despite the fact the 6300 has an excellent receiver, Flex Radio have pushed the boundaries once again to nudge performance up a little to ensure they stay right at the top of the pile in terms of receiver performance (Sherwood Engineering independent receiver performance comparison).

Now with 4 Slice Receivers

The Flex 6300 has 2 slice receivers meaning 2 bands could be monitored in 2 independant band scopes at the same time. The flex 6400 doubles that capability to 4 slice receivers

Now with Preselectors!

The 6300 did not have any bandpass filtering based on the quality of the reciever being at such a level that it would not need to have them. However, if the 2 slices were placed at different points within the 7MHz SCU (spectural Capture Unit) bandwidth, performance could be compromised slightly. Now the 6400 is fitted as standard with these BPF, performance is always assured no matter which bands are in use!

Optional GPSDO

It was not possible to fit the GPSDO (GPS Deciplined Oscillator) which provides super-stable and accurate frequency calibration. Now the Flex Radio GPSDO can be fitted as an optional extra.

Modular Design

This 6400 has been designed to use slot in boards which allows for easier repair and service over that of the Flex 6300

SmartSDR Version 2

While SmartSDR can be used on any Flex 6000 series, it is provided free of charge on the 6400. With ground-breaking single-click remote operation, Flex Radio have taken remote station operation to the next level by providing more users than ever with an easy route in.
