Icom are pleased to
introduce the IC-E7. Stylish, compact and with a lightweight body. The IC-E7
is small enough to be carried anytime, anywhere and covers the popular
144MHz and 430/440MHz bands for short range contact and repeater operation.
In addition, it has wideband receiver capability for receiving FM, analogue
TV audio and other utility communications. A large capacity Lithium-Ion
battery pack provides long battery life for extended use.
Ultra compact body
The IC-E7 measures 47(W) x 81(H) x 28(D) mm and weighs only 160g. Its
lightweight, compact body is easy for carrying anytime, anywhere.
Wideband receive capability
IC-E7 outputs an economical 1.5W on 2m band and 1.0W on 70cm band. The
built-in wideband receiver covers from 0.495MHz to 999.990MHz with FM WFM
and AM modes; you will be able to listen to FM, Analogue TV (audio) and
other utility communications. In addition, TV channels and short wave
broadcast stations are pre-programmed.
Li-Ion battery pack and desktop rapid charger supplied as standard
A large capacity 1800mAh battery pack, BP-243 is supplied with the IC-E7. It
provides 20 hours* of operating time or 15 hours of continuous receive
capability. The supplied BC-164 Li-Ion rapid charger charges the BP-243 in
approximately 3 hours.

Stylish design and simple operation
Customer feedback has shaped the design of the IC-E7. While a minimum number
of buttons provide quick and easy operation, its metal plating tuning knob
on the front panel gives the IC-E7 a stylish appearance not seen before in
any Ham radio.
Total 1250 alphanumeric memory channels
The IC-E7 has 1000 regular channels, 50 band scan edges and 200 auto memory
write channels. Regular memory channels can be grouped into 18 memory banks
(Max. 100 channels per bank). When naming channels and banks with 6-digit
letters and numbers, the IC-E7 can display the channel and bank names.
Multiple scan functions
The IC-E7 supports 10 scan types for ease of use:
•Bank link scan
The bank link scan provides dynamic memory scanning. You can set the bank
link on/off for each memory bank and it only scans busy channels from the
selected banks.
•Auto memory write scan
The auto memory write scan is a convenient combination of scanning and
writing memory channels. This function automatically stores detected
frequencies and modes in the auto memory write bank. You can check the auto
memory write channels later and transfer them to regular memory channels
with alphanumeric channel names.
•Other scan types
- Full scan.
- Selected band scan.
- Programmed scan.
- Bank scan.
- Memory scan.
- Skip scan.
- Priority scan.
- Tone scan.
DTCS, CTCSS tone squelch operation
CTCSS and DTCS tones are used for opening a repeater or tone squelch
operation such as tone squelch and pocket beep for quiet stand-by. The
pocket beep alerts the operator with a beep sound, when the transceiver
receives a signal containing a preset tone.
